In our 2026/27 research, HireVue is named for the video interview at more UK finance employers than any other platform: 30 of the 41 employers where a video platform is named. 5 of them name HireVue themselves. The other 25 are reported by other sources, usually prep sites, 24 of them on one source. For 76 of the 117 employers with a video step, no platform is named.

Who uses HireVue for video interviews
A one-way video interview asks you to record answers to set questions. No one is on the call. An employer may call it a video interview, a pre-interview assessment or a video assessment. Of the 312 employers we checked, 117 include one for one or more programmes.
76 of those 117 do not say which platform runs it.

J.P. Morgan names HireVue in its job listings, programme by programme. For three general entries (spring insight, summer internships, graduate programmes) the only sources are prep sites. BlackRock names HireVue in its guidance on AI in interviews and in its EMEA candidate FAQ. AIG, Aon and WTW name it on their own careers pages. AIG’s page covers its roles in every country, not UK roles alone.
One more employer names HireVue, but for a mixed first step rather than a separate video interview. Moore Kingston Smith says it uses HireVue for its early-talent programmes (Moore Kingston Smith). Its first online step mixes pre-recorded video questions and interactive tests.

IMC Trading: HireVue is reported for its trading internship only. For its graduate traineeship, sources conflict (HireVue or Spark Hire). One source names Spark Hire for its graduate trader route.
Goldman Sachs is the one strong report. Several independent sources name HireVue for its video interview. Across all 312 employers we checked, it is the only reported answer that rests on more than one source.
Older reports only. Accenture was reported to use HireVue in 2025, and S&P Global was reported to use it in an earlier cycle. Neither names a video platform for 2026/27.

For EY and Deloitte, the recorded video answers sit inside a wider online assessment with other tasks. PwC’s listing describes an on-demand recorded video interview as its own step. The FCA’s video questions are part of its online job insight assessment.
- EY (SHL): EY’s applicant data notice says SHL hosts its UK early-careers online assessments. Recorded video answers are scored with help from GTI, a company working for SHL.
- Lazard (Criteria): its UK page lists a video assessment run by Criteria, with interview-style questions, alongside an aptitude test and a behavioural test.
- M&G (Cappfinity): its FAQ says video interviews are taken through Cappfinity.
- Man Group (Sonru): its students page names Sonru as its video software partner.
- Nationwide Building Society (Sova): named in a customer story on Sova’s own site.
- Zopa (Aon): a Zopa job listing invites candidates who pass its online assessment to a recorded video interview through Aon.
- Reported, one source each: Cappfinity at Deloitte and the FCA, SHL at NatWest Group and PwC, and Willo at OC&C Strategy Consultants.
A few more names appear only in older reports. None of these employers names a video platform for 2026/27:
- Launchpad: Arbuthnot Latham (2020) and Capco (earlier cycle).
- Criteria: the Financial Ombudsman Service (2025) and Barnett Waddingham (earlier cycle).
- Willo: BDO (earlier cycle).
Video step found, platform not named
We also found a video step at these 69 employers, but no source names the platform. By sector:

Read in October 2026. Nationwide’s line comes from Sova, its provider. BlackRock’s timings come from its EMEA FAQ and apply to its EMEA programmes.
BlackRock’s FAQ is the fullest. It says you have “three minutes to prepare and up to 90 seconds to respond” for each question. Once submitted, the assessment cannot be retaken. It must be completed in one sitting within five days of submitting your application.
The others publish less. J.P. Morgan’s listings say the HireVue interview is required before your application goes further, and some strongly encourage you to finish it within three days. Aon gives up to 10 days. No other employer on this page publishes a question count or an answer time for its HireVue interview.

HireVue’s own candidate pages describe how its video interviews usually work. Each employer sets its own answer time and retakes.

On scoring. HireVue’s FAQ says its assessments study your recorded answers to highlight job-related skills, and that it looks at “the whole context of a response, not just certain words”. It also says people make the hiring decisions. It does not say which employers use that scoring. Of the employers that name HireVue, only WTW says it uses “HireVue Assessments”, the product name the FAQ uses. The others do not say, in the pages we read, how answers are scored.
On practice. HireVue’s guide says it does not work with any third parties offering “training” for its assessments. The practice HireVue describes is the practice question inside your own interview. We found no public HireVue practice site.
AI tools and outside help
Several employers in the tables above state what you may not use. These are their own rules:

How to prepare: our view
Read the invitation first
Check the platform it names, the deadline, and whether answers can be retaken. These differ by employer. BlackRock, for example, gives five days and no retake.
Use the practice question
HireVue says you get a practice question before the real one, and that only you see your practice recordings. Use it to check your camera, sound and light before you start.
Ask for what you need
HireVue says you may also be able to ask the employer for the questions in advance, and that adjustments are requested through the recruiter or hiring team. Its 2021 tips guide adds that employers are not required to share the questions.
Prepare as for any interview
HireVue suggests researching the role and preparing as you would for a normal interview. Prepare a few short examples from your own experience: what happened, what you did, and the result.
Rehearse on camera
HireVue suggests recording yourself on a phone, tablet or computer and keeping answers concise. Time a few practice answers against the limit your employer gives, if it gives one.
Set up your space
HireVue suggests a quiet spot, free from distractions, with the light in front of you. Also charge your device and use the strongest internet connection you have.
Answer in your own words
Several employers on this page say not to use AI tools in their interviews. Lazard says the commonest mistake is reading answers from a script.
What we offer, and what we do not
We sell no video-interview practice. Acumen Logic has no HireVue, Sonru, Sova, Willo or other video practice, free or paid. Nothing on our platform records or reviews video answers.
Some employers on this page also set a reasoning test before or alongside the video. J.P. Morgan’s Markets listings pair the video interview with a maths test, both on HireVue. EY’s SHL assessments mix tasks with recorded answers. For general reasoning practice, the free Acumen Logic Benchmark is 20 questions in 17 minutes across numerical, verbal and logical reasoning. It is not a copy of any employer’s test, and it does not practise the video part.
