Free aptitude tests
Free aptitude tests for UK graduates: four full tests, no card
Short answer. Four full aptitude tests are free on Acumen Logic, with no card: the 17-minute Benchmark, and one practice test each for SHL, Aon and Cappfinity in that publisher's format. You can take each one once. You start without an account and sign up at the end to see your score and the correct answer to every question.
Which free test should you take?
Take the test that matches your invitation. If you have no invitation yet, start with the Benchmark: it covers numerical, verbal and logical reasoning and shows where you are weakest.
-
The Benchmark
Numerical, verbal and logical reasoning
20 questions · 17 minutes · 3 timed sections
Shows your weakest section across three reasoning types.
-
Free SHL test
Numerical reasoning, multiple choice
18 questions · 25 minutes
Physical calculator allowed; none on screen.
-
Free Aon test
Verbal reasoning (Aon scales verbal)
49 questions · 12 minutes
No calculator needed for this form. Aon numerical practice is in Pro.
-
Free Cappfinity test
Numerical reasoning
12 questions · time recorded, not limited
A physical calculator is allowed for the numerical section.
Each test is free, needs no card and can be taken once. You start without an account and sign up at the end to see your score and every correct answer. These are our replicas in each publisher's format, not the publishers' own tests.
What does your test invitation say?
What each free test gives you
- Your score, an estimated percentile for that format, and the correct answer to every question, kept in your account.
- One method explained, so you see how we teach the questions you miss.
- The Benchmark also gives you a section-by-section breakdown: Numerical Reasoning (8 questions, 8 minutes), Verbal Reasoning (7 questions, 5 minutes), Logical Reasoning (5 questions, 4 minutes).
Do you need an account?
Not to start. You begin any of the four with no account, no email address and no card. At the end you create a free account to see your result, because a score has to belong to someone to be saved. There is no card at that step either.
Why can you take each test only once?
Once you have seen the questions, a second attempt measures your memory of them as well as your reasoning, and the score stops meaning anything. So each free test is one sitting, and we enforce it. Give it uninterrupted time, with a calculator and paper where the test allows them, the way you would sit the real thing.
Other free practice in the UK
We are not the only free source. Here is what else is available, including sources we compete with.
- The test publishers themselves. SHL and Aon publish free example questions and practice tests on their own sites. They are usually short and give no percentile, but they come from the people who wrote your test. Confirmed
- Your university careers service. Many UK universities license a practice platform that is free to their own students, often with one-to-one guidance. Provision varies by university, so ask yours. Reported
- Preparation companies. Most paid prep providers publish a free sample test or a handful of free questions, sized to show you their product. Reported

What is not free
Everything past the four free tests is in Pro: every replica practice test (41 forms across SHL, Aon and Cappfinity), 25 teaching drills, the method for every question you miss, and the full analytics. Pro has three plans. Test Week (£8 a week) and Month (£24 a month) renew until you cancel. The Season Pass (£59) is paid once for 90 days and never renews. You do not need any of it to take the free tests.
